Overview
This policy covers the MilePal: CDL Test Prep 2027 iPhone app (“MilePal”, “the app”), made by Globa Brands LLC (“we”, “us”). It describes exactly what the app collects. The rest of globabrands.com is covered by the Globa Brands LLC Privacy Policy.
The short version
• There is no account and no sign-in. We never ask for your name, email address or phone number in the app.
• Your progress stays on your phone.
• The app sends anonymous usage statistics that are not linked to you. Your IP address is not stored with them.
• Purchases are handled by Apple. We never see your card or your Apple Account details.
• No ads, no tracking across other apps or websites, and we do not sell data.
1. What stays on your phone
Your state, your chosen tests, your test date, your answers, scores, mistakes, saved questions and reminder time are stored on your phone. Your progress itself is not sent to us; only the anonymous statistics in section 2 leave your phone. Deleting the app deletes everything stored on your phone. You can also clear your progress in the app under Settings > Reset progress.
2. Anonymous usage statistics
To see which parts of the app help and what to improve, the app sends short usage events to PostHog, a statistics service (PostHog, Inc., servers in the United States). Examples: a test was started, a question was answered right or wrong, an exam was finished with its score, the subscription screen was shown.
Each event comes with:
• a random ID that the app creates when it is installed (it is not your name, your Apple Account or an advertising ID),
• the app version, the phone model, the iOS version, the screen size, the phone’s language and region setting, and its time zone,
• the state and tests you chose and whether you have full access; events about your test date carry only the number of days until it, never the date itself.
What is not sent: your name, email address, contacts, photos, location or advertising ID. The app does not record your screen. PostHog is set to discard IP addresses and not to look up location from them, so they are not stored with the statistics.
We use these statistics only to understand and improve MilePal. They are not linked to your identity, not used for advertising and not sold.
3. Purchases
Subscriptions are bought through Apple’s App Store. Apple handles payment; we never receive your card details, name or Apple Account email.
To unlock full access, restore purchases and see how subscriptions are doing, the app uses RevenueCat (RevenueCat, Inc.), a subscription service. RevenueCat receives the purchase record from Apple: which plan, the dates of the trial and renewals, the price and the App Store country. It stores this under a random ID that the app creates. RevenueCat also passes these purchase events to our anonymous statistics (section 2), under the same random ID as the app’s events.
4. Email you send us
If you write to support@globabrands.com, or use “Report a problem” in the app, the message is sent from your own mail app. It includes what you write and, for a problem report, your chosen state, the app and content versions and, if you report a question, the question’s number. We receive your email address with it. We use this only to answer you and to fix problems, and we keep it only as long as needed for that.
5. Reminders
If you turn on the daily study reminder, the reminder is set on your phone. Nothing about it is sent to us.
6. Children
MilePal is made for people preparing for a commercial driver’s license. It is not directed to children under 13, and we do not knowingly collect personal information from children.
7. Your choices
• You can delete the app at any time; this removes everything stored on your phone.
• Because the statistics and purchase records use random IDs that are not linked to you, we cannot look up your data by your name or email. If you have a question about your data, write to us and we will help as far as we can.
• To manage or cancel a subscription, see How to cancel on the MilePal support page.
8. Changes
If this policy changes, we will update it on this page and change the date at the top.
MilePal is an independent study app. It is not affiliated with any government agency.
